The Original Penguins

So these are the original penguins that have formed the basis for these anxiety webcomics and ebook:

My nana made them for me…the blue one when I was first off work with anxiety, she thought it might cheer me up, and the purple one for Christmas, the last Christmas we had together before she died from cancer.

I think the John Lewis Christmas advert (2014) was the reason why she decided to knit a second penguin as a friend for the first.

Anyway, I liked doodling with the penguins and found that it really helped me manage my anxiety as well as explore issues that make me anxious.

That is basically how this blog began!

  1. I found your blog through a reference on another blog. The penguin connection drew me in. I don’t what it is about penguins, but they make me smile. Maybe it’s their walk, their formal attire, or their shape. Or maybe how they seem to make the South Pole look like a cool place to be. If I ever see a penguin wearing sunglasses, I might fall apart from laughter.

From what I have read of your blog so far, you are doing great work. I look forward to adding your site to my rotation of regular blogs that I follow.

  3. I love them! They are so adorable. It is cool to see where you got the idea for the penguin cartoons from. I never looked at this until today for some reason.

Thank you for sharing your penguins with us. I love your cartoons. I will check out your e-book this week when I get a chance. I would love to see you be able to sell a book with these penguin cartoons someday 🙂

    Much love,
    Annie
